On-site generation of cleaning, disinfection and sanitizing
solutions enhances productivity and improves performance over
traditional cleaning methods, says Kisco Environmental Services Director
MINNEAPOLIS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--
Orbio Technologies, a Tennant Company (NYSE:TNC) group and a leading
innovator of sustainable cleaning technologies, is pleased to announce
that Kisco Senior Living, a leading owner and operator of senior living
communities throughout the U.S., has made the sustainable choice to
greatly reduce its use of packaged chemicals and, instead, generate
commercial cleaning solutions on-site using the award-winning Orbio®
os3. The Orbio os3 is attached to the building’s water supply and uses
the process of water electrolysis—which combines water, electricity and
a small amount of salt—to create an effective cleaning solution and a
disinfecting/sanitizing solution that meets U.S. EPA regulatory
guidelines for disinfection and sanitization.
Jack Mayse
, National Director of Environmental Services for Kisco Senior
Living based in Carlsbad, CA, was convinced of the os3 performance when
he tested it in one of Kisco’s senior living communities. “We have found
the self-generated cleaning solutions from the os3 to be superior in
performance to traditional cleaning chemicals we previously used. Also,
the cleaning solutions dispensed from the os3 don’t release strong
chemical odors into the environment and that contributes to a healthier
environment for our residents. That makes the os3 an easy choice,” Mayse
said. “For Kisco, it’s important that the Orbio os3 also helps to reduce
our carbon footprint.”
Cleaning the 19 Kisco Senior Living communities is no small task. With
more than 3 million combined square feet that need to be cleaned daily,
the great results and added productivity gained by generating the
cleaning solutions on-site are significant. “Having a clean, inviting
place to live is paramount to the well-being and satisfaction of our
senior residents,” Mayse said. “And, cleanliness has a direct
correlation to the health of our residents and we take that very
seriously.”
Kisco will ultimately deploy 20 Orbio os3 units throughout its
communities and has said that any newly built or acquired communities
will be migrated to the Orbio cleaning methodology. “The driving forces
behind our decision to go with on-site generation from Orbio include the
science behind the system, the proven outcomes, the Tennant Company’s
reputation for service and the environmental impact reduction we
achieve,” Mayse explained.
“We look forward to growing with Kisco because they are innovative in
their thinking about sustainability and passionate about providing the
best possible care for their residents,” said
Karla Leis
, Vice President
and General Manager of Orbio Technologies. “On-site generation is a
perfect match for Kisco and we’re thrilled to be leading the way with
them,” Leis added.
